Calling all Classmates!

We, the class of 1993, are looking for a few good leaders to step up to the plate and help keep the class going.

As a group, we are in need of some organization and team work. We have the tools and the talent, but we we lack the initiative and the drive.

If you are interested in being a class leader, let me know!

As the reunion approaches

The 20th is fast approaching! We are planning to get together on July 27th at Celebrations in Pell City. The party will start at 1000 but the meal is pot luck. We will have access to a full kitchen so if you need to come a bit early and prepare some of your meal, come on! A few of of us will be on hand putting up decorations.

There will be a DJ and a photographer who will be with us for the afternoon. Alcohol is allowed. There will be bouncy things for the kids and a dance floor for the big kids. The photographer will be taking portraits of families or groups and selling 5x7s for $8.00.

Please bring your pictures and memories. Some classmates are asking for a memory table. If you would like to see one also, please bring some of your photos to be shared at the table...especially if you have photos of classmates who have passed on.

All monies are due by July5th. Please send $40 to PO BOX 452 in Jacksonville AL 36265. Make checks out to Lincoln High School Class of 1993. Deposits can be made at Coosa Pines Federal Credit Union in Pell City, but you will need to send me a text of your deposit slip.

Ceary Embry is a Pastor at Faith Baptist Church at 821 West 11th St Anniston AL 36201. He has invited the whole class to come to service on Sunday morning after the reunion. Several members of the class have wanted to attend church togther but didn't know where to go, since we all have so many home churches. This is the perfect opportunity for us to worship together!

Cheryl may have us some shirts to purchase to commemorate our reunion. Please stay tuned for more details. Also, I would like to do a memory album for our classmates. These would be made-to-order but I will need you to share your photos with me. Please facebook or email me any pictures that you give me permission...new or old photos will be great!

Contact me at 2054057163 or mibb1975@gmail.com for more information. Cheryl is on facebook as well as Cheryl Busenlehner and cbusenlehner@mail.com. Marvin is mrorr75@gmail.com.

REUNION UPDATES!

TAVERN AT ST CLAIR MARCH 2013
Greetings to all and happy spring!

Just to let you know that the gang has had a productive go since the start of the new year!  We met for dinner at The Tavern at St Clair in March. It was a small group of about 20 classmates who wanted to have dinner together. We missed those who were unable to make it, but we understand that some things came up at the last minute!

While we were at the dinner, we talked a little bit about generating ideas for the next reunion. We all agreed that due to busy schedules, the original date for May did not leave enough time for planning, and we looked

Ginny Stanley Bass

to the future for a summer event. We tossed up ideas for a camping retreat vs a dinner. In addition, Ginny's husband Stephan, photographed us in the panoramic picture above to send to Alan Pitts, who is stationed overseas with the US military.

The week following the dinner, we opened the "floor" for nominations for a reunion planning committee via facebook and email. Those nominated were Connie Gable McGehee, Ginny Stanley Bass, Marvin Orr, Misty Lawson Hickey, Cheryl Causey Busenlehner, Kiundra Truss and Miranda Bryant. Nominations closed the following Friday at noon, and only Connie is not part of the committee, as she graciously bowed out of the running.

The Committee planned a conference call, which was held on April 14 at 6m. Marvin, Ginny, Cheryl and Miranda were in attendance. If you would like to help be a driving force behind the work that will need to be done, please contact one of your committee members. See the contact numbers on the Members page.

Miranda and Cheryl

During the conference call, the Committee discussed the following:

1.  Venues to hold the reunion. Talladega Creek had been offered up as an option, but upon further review, did not have the facility needed to meet the requirements of the large crowd. On the table currently are the Pell City Civic Center and a back-yard barbecue. Ginny is to call the Civic Center, and Marvin is to check on the back-yard location.

2. T-shirts to commemorate the reunion and celebrate 20 years of history together. Once available, we will have these shirts to show our solidarity to the community and the states we represent. Cheryl is going to spear-head the design process and find a place to order the shirts. The Committee decided on a polo style shirt that can be worn anywhere as opposed to a T shirt that is more casual. Cost is a factor, and Cheryl has had experience with companies in the past, so we feel confident she can get us a good group rate.

3. Possibility of a basket-ball tournament.  Marvin discussed getting teams of classmates together for basketball. The idea here is that our class will compete against teams from other LHS classes. Please contact Marvin if you are interested in a tournament.

4. A memory book. Miranda will put together a memory book via an online photo-shop service to show as a way to hold dear memories of the Class of 1993. Many classmembers have lost their memorabilia to house fire or moves over the last 20 years. Year books are no longer available.
Please email Miranda at mibb1975@gmail.com  to help collect a variety of view-points for the memory book. **The class right now is currently in need of a class photographer. Please be mindful and prayerful of your talent and consider sharing your talent with us to help us record our new memories.
Memory books will be available to order at-cost at the reunion. Please email pictures and memories to Miranda at mibb1975@gmailcom.

The Committee set up a new conference call time scheduled in two weeks to discuss progress.

Class Reunion Coming Soon!

Miranda and Marvin
Greetings Pals and Gals!

As you know, our 20th reunion is coming up soon. We have a small group of classmates currently working on the details of the reunion, which is currently slated for late May 2013.

We had a committee meeting on Saturday, July 28th. Marvin and I were the only ones able to make that meeting, but we were able to get the ball rolling in the right direction.  Currently your committee consists of Miranda Bryant, Marvin Orr, Ginny Stanley Bass, Chip Jancsek, Ron Dothard, Rod Hill and Loran Truss. Any volunteers are welcome!

The goal of our committee is to create a weekend-long event that will offer each of us the opportunity to fellowship together amidst our busy schedules.

There have been numerous suggestions put on the table, and the committee will work hard to make these come to fruition.

Right now we need two things:  Current contact information ESPECIALLY email addresses and a headcount of how many will be attending the reunion in May.

Can someone please tell me Alan Pitts' email address?

You will receive a subscription in your email for a BLOG page from me in a couple of days.  Our class newsletter will be generated at blogspot.com. Each time I update this website, you will receive an email with a link to the updated blog page.  You must subscribe to receive this updated information.

We will only call you in the case of an emergency, so please make sure that we have the best number to reach you or leave a message, as some the numbers we have are out of date, as well.

If you are unable to receive the updates, you may call me at 205 405 7163, and I can work something out with you to contact you personally via phone or mail.  Periodically this information will be updated on facebook, but do not look to facebook for the latest.

You can also send me your personal updates and news if you wish for me to share it with the class at once!

Finally, one of the things we would like to see done is to help the classmates who have lost their high school memorabilia over the past years get some of their old pictures back. If you could begin emailing me ANY photos you have from high school and also any snapshots you might have taken since we graduated, we would love to try to put together some form of Memory Book via snapfish or WalMart.com to have available to purchase.

Any suggestions you have for the reunion are appreciated, but you must be willing to back your suggestion with your MAN POWER! We will need your help!

We are all looking forward to a great 20th reunion. We are known for our ability to get together, so let's do it again!

Peace and Blessings
Miranda B.

Reunion Fast Approaching

Dear Friends,

I write this to you to let you know that another reunion is in the works, but this time it is the 20th! A nice, round, fat number for us old folks who are listening to the Golden Oldies of the 80's. The songs we new as kids are now on the Back in the Day Buffet!!! YIKES!

I know economic times are tough, gas is high, groceries are high, paychecks are down. We make great things happen as a team. We enjoy each other's company, and we love gathering...obviously, we have gathered every year at least once since 2008. I have immensely enjoyed it, and from what others have said, you have too!

I created this website a while back, but now I am trying to really make it information that is useful. You will find classmates birthdays (as I come across them), contact information, as I have it now (please send me updates as necessary), and financial info with regards to the class account. You will also find pictures and tours down memory lane. Please EMAIL ME MORE!!!! I would love to have a whole pastle of pictures to post. My goal is to run a silde reel at the top of the newsletter. The more pictures the better!

Marvin has made a call to action for our classmates. I am simply holding the megaphone. Now is the time to begin planning and saving for our 20th Reunion. Rod and Ron have been so kind as to volunteer their time and effort, but we NEED MORE!!!

We need IDEAS!!! We need RESOURCES! We need photos, venues, entertainment, food. Suggestions!!! and sadly, we need money. I would much rather call for a year-long payment plan than a cover charge of $100 or more to cover everything.

Suggestions on the table at this point are picnics, dinners, meet and greets, gathering more than just once...holding more than one event so everyone can make it to at least one. T-shirts. Photo albums to replace yearbooks that were lost over the years. A roast of one of the classmates...voted on by you. A Who's Who. Where are they now? These are ideas on the table, nothing concretely formulated.

If you would like to be a part of the planning call Miranda or Marvin. Numbers listed on the contact page. Or email me. Check in on our LINCOLN HIGH CLASS OF 1993 facebook page, or the 20th Reunion Event Page on facebook.

We are looking forward to having a great celebration of 20 years of friendship!

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE TECHNICALLY INCLINED

You will notice that the technology in our world is getting more advanced. Our phones are smarter than we are for Pete's sake! When was the last time you memorized someone's phone number or birthday??? I wait on people all the time who don't even know what their own phone number is!!!! We have social networks, text messaging, inboxing and blogging! Yea us!!

I have phone numbers in my house that belong to you all, but it is faster for me to email you as a group in one email. I confess that I was on FB for two hours last night before I figured all that out!!! I can email you from my yahoo account much faster than I can call you on my phone in between all the things I am doing with my kids in the precious few hours that I have before our bedtime, and don't let the boss catch you on the phone for anything not work-related!!! My options are this, I can break the alphabet down and call the A-Ds on Monday nights and hope that you are not at a little league game, or I can reach you on the venues that you visit most often...internet!

I am putting this information on this webpage as a reminder to you all that we have it. I encourage you to check it frequently. I designed it as a way to get information and share business news about the class. Please click to be a follower of this page to keep up.

We have a BBQ planned for June 25th. Pray for dry weather, but at this rate, I think we would all be good in the rain!!!! Misty Lawson Hickey and family are letting us use their house and property on the river. Please make plans to attend!!! We have ten families signed up already!!! The picnic is scheduled to begin at 3:00 and we will try to eat around 5:00.

Please bring enough hotdogs or hamburgers for you and your guests. Bring the drinks you plan drink. I would ask at this time for any volunteers to bring an ice chest, and if a couple of families can provide a dish or dessert.

I will send out an email on Monday with directions, and look to me to call on a few of you activce classmembers to try to help out where you can.

Misty says that they can provide inflatable jumpy thing for the kids to play on, and there is a boat ramp nearby.

I hope to see you all there!!!! Check facebook for updates and call me with questions.

Class Dinner Was a Success!

Our little class recently met for dinner at Top of the River. We had a small, but wonderful group of classmates and families.

If you were not able to attend, you were missed.

Keep plugged in, as Marvin is already interested in getting another gathering together.
